Asus SonicMaster Music Box!

I love a bit of music, playing guitar / bass or just listening to it.. which is why I had to give the new flash game by technology company Asus a go!

Asus have just released their new laptop, the SonicMaster, which they say..

"The SonicMaster is a new laptop with great sound quality, which makes it really good for music
lovers."

To promote the laptop they have created this cool flash animation where you choose a music star, upload your picture, record a message and see them jumping around on stage with some music overlayed on top of your voice! Pretty cool, especially with your own face on there :)

The flash website is really simple to use, and can be emailed to friends and family! I recorded myself playing guitar, and it ended up going along quite well with the music they put over the top - an almost eerie classical / rock duet.

In fact.. I think I may go and try again just to get a nice little animation with some singing (or what I call singing anyway, ha!)

Give it a go, and check out their musically enhanced laptop too!

69 Officer?

Well I'm not really quite sure what to make of this one, but I'm sure it will capture the minds and attention of many men up and down the country!

As a young male who has been caught speeding by the police, I'm pretty sure if I had tried the tactic displayed in the video it would have got me nowhere - if not into more trouble...

Blackberry Bold 9700 OS 6 Firmware Upgrade First Impressions + Issues + Surprises

I finally took the plunge and decided to install the leaked version of OS6 for my Blackberry Bold 9700.

First impressions, issues and surprises in my video here:

Blackberry Bold 9700 OS 6 Firmware Upgrade First Impressions + Issues + Surprises from David Itzcovitz on Vimeo.

A few things I noticed soon after making the video, and didn't include, were:

- Main menu, no longer opened with menu button, but by clicking on 'Open Tray' after clicking Menu button..
- Much faster bootup time, around 20-30 seconds.. instead of 2 minutes as previous!!
- Contact history log, in the phonebook under each contact it has a history of your contact with them.
- Tabbed browsing, hurrah!!! self explanatory, can open multiple tabs in the internet browser.
- Videos in gallery have preview thumbnails.
- Calendar icon now updates according to the actual date.
- Camera options (flash, focus, scene settings, video camera mode) all easier to access with single clicks on buttons onscreen rather than through menus.

There are probably lots more to mention but I am still discovering them.

Thanks for watching!

Eos 550D + Nunchucks = Extreme slo-mo footage :D

So, after a bit of time out from blogging I hope to make a little return.

To update the past few weeks, I have had a motorbike crash, my laptop has died, I have been paid out for motorbike repair, I have bought a new laptop, I have had to buy a new screen to work with new laptop, I bought a new digital SLR camera and I have been playing with all new things a lot!

Here's my latest little experiment.

Shot on my new Canon Eos 550d at 60fps, conformed to 23.98fps using Cinema Tools and edited in Final Cut Pro. Music is 'Stompbox' by Overseer. The 60fps footage at the end is waaaay overkill for the human eye, but is great for slow motion footage.

Awesome.

'Crackdown 2' on Xbox 360

If I were not just about to enter my final year at university with a huge dissertation to do, I would probably be going out right now to buy an Xbox 360 and subscribe to Xbox Live.. just for this game.

Looks like a right royal bloodbath. Oh I miss being young and in front of the television for hours with mind-numbing violence...

'Crackdown 2' is out 9th July!

Things You Know You Should Throw Out... But Can't

There are probably loads of things in your house that you have collected over the years, bought or given to you, that just cannot be thrown out - regardless of age or condition.

Today I found one such item in our garage, gathering dust right at the top of a lot of other stuff we have stored up on the rafters. It is a Mitsubishi television that we have owned for roughly 20 years, used by my grandma when she lived with us, by my parents and by myself in various bedrooms/rooms. It has a cool feature of the remote slotting into the front of the frame for storage, and it still gets excellent picture when and aerial is plugged into it. It even takes quite well to having a PlayStation or N64 (yes I found that too!!) connected up to it.

It is now set up in our garage for now - watching some daytime television whilst clearing out other rubbish is actually quite enjoyable. I'll probably move it back into my room soon, after a few years lapse :)

Viral Video Chart - The Best Viral Videos On The Internet!

Went to the re-launch party of the new Viral Video Chart last night from Unruly Media, where the new design of their chart was revealed along with a screening of some of the greatest Internet videos ever!! We have all spent hours clicking from one YouTube video to the next... don't pretend you haven't :)

The past 10 years has really opened the Internet up to social media, with Facebook and blogs allowing shared content over many other platforms. A nice presentation was given by someone from Contagious Magazine, as well as other interesting Internet statistics ( it was something silly like it would take 912 years to watch all content on YouTube!?!?!?!)

Here is the link to the chart if you fancy spending some quality time over the nets greatest virals. It has different categories and other stats about the videos on there too! A great time killer, as well as a useful trend viewer.

Just try not to get rickroll'd!! Enjoy :)

Annoyance Of The Week

This is why I hate Windows OS.

Photobucket

Then it tried to tell me that 'Windows Explorer.exe has a virus and is being blocked by Windows Firewall'.

Oh great, Windows is blocking itself.

Photobucket

Clicking 'Yes' caused The Blue Screen Of Death (see first image above), clicking 'No' resulted in another security dialogue appearing (see second image above for infinite amount of alerts).

Pfft.
